Seeking New Barista for Our Team

Seeking New Barista for Our Team

We are currently looking for a passionate and experienced barista to join our hard working team at Growers Espresso and Eureka Coffee in North Fitzroy.

You will be working on La Marzocco machines – manual/paddle and auto – to produce lovely coffees for our customers using a wide range of seasonal blends and interesting single origin coffees.

Our family business has a strong history in growing and roasting coffee so you will be expected to have a sound appreciation (or the desire to learn) about growing, processing and roasting coffee, in addition to your barista skills.

Our Growers Espresso roastery offers a range of coffees each week for filter and cold filter brewing so experience in alternative brewing methods is also desired.

Our extensive range of blends and single origin coffees, plus specialty teas and brew gear, are available for retail purchase for home/business so the ability to engage well with customers for selection and sales is critical.

You will also be required to assist with our event and farmers’ market coffee cart/coffee catering operations when required. Farmers’ markets in particular are a key focus for the supply and promotion of our Australian grown coffee range (Eureka Coffee) – plus it is a lovely environment to meet and talk with customers.

We would like somebody who:

- is able to make customers feel welcome and valued while multi tasking and handling multiple orders

- has excellent communication skills, and is able to work successfully in a team environment

- has the ability to work under pressure

- has a minimum of 1 year experience within the specialty coffee industry

- ample filter knowledge

- good understanding of grinder adjustment and machine maintenance regimes

- must have sound latte art skills

- can multi task when required to assist in all areas of espresso bar/cafe service and coffee production

This is a great opportunity for anyone who is looking to expand their knowledge within the coffee sector and become part of a friendly and supportive team.

There will be future opportunities to be involved with the development and implementation of training and information programs/sessions, including regular cupping events, espresso and brew training, and producer/supplier evenings.

You will be required to work Saturdays in addition to 2-3 extra Monday-Friday full shifts per week. Additional shifts will also be available during peak event periods.

If you feel you fit the above job profile please send an email along with your brief resume to info@eurekacoffee.com.au (please include your available days/times in application) or visit our Growers Espresso store and introduce yourself.
