Mark Ryan, Managing Director and Roaster, has recently returned from a trip to the beautiful Indonesian island of Sumatra. It was an intensive week travelling to various coffee growing areas around north Sumatra, and visiting several mill owners and exporters.
Many would be familiar with well known Sumatran coffees such as Mandheling and Lintong, which are grown near the amazing and vast Danua (Lake) Toba. Other areas explored include specific plantations near Sidikilang and Sipangan Bolon. Several coffees from these areas are currently on offer as part of the Growers Espresso range. Mark will provide a detailed account of his experiences over the coming weeks.
