Farmers' Markets - Online Promotions and Information

Weekend Notes - this is one of many popular online sites promoting things to do, including where to shop, eat and drink. One of our regular dedicated Farmers' Market shoppers, Julia Hebaiter, has just posted a good article promoting our great accredited Farmers' Markets and their fab producers - so please check out the link.

You may also wish to visit the following sites for information on Farmers' Markets to get useful information on locations. dates, producers, seasonal produce and even receipes:

Victorian Farmers' Markets Association (VFMA) - the association's website promotes accredited farmers' markets across Victoria. There are useful links to producers and individual markets, and you can also subscribe to regular updates and newsletters which include special offers and recipes. The website is a one stop shop for all market information and includes background on the accreditation program for farmers' markets and why this is so important.

Melbourne Community Farmers' Markets - this website covers many popular and well established Melbourne farmers' markets - including the first established at Collingwood Childrens' Farm - and a couple of newer markets at Fairfield and Coal Creek. Miranda Sharp, who started and manages the markets listed in association with community groups and the venues, is a tireless and passionate promoter and leader of the farmers' market movement in Australia.

Farmhouse Direct - this Australia Post and VFMA backed online ordering website provides the opportunity for customers to order anytime and anywhere the fantastic products which are available at farmers' markets. So if you can't attend a market and need something from your favourite producer, check this website and you may find that they are just a click away.

Farmers' markets have and continue to be a wonderful way of connecting the customer with the producer to appreciate what seasonal, fresh and local produce and artisan products are all about. They have been very important for our small specialty roastery to promote our locally grown coffees.

Cheers and hope to see you at a farmers' market soon
